Update properties on drawing automatically after check out

By opening a drawing after making a revision and check out, nowadays the properties have to be updated by hand.

Only after executing the ''updated properties'' command, the revision number and the revision table are being updated.

In my opinion there is no situation that you want to avoid the properties are being updated after executing the check out command. So updating properties should be executed automatically after check out.

When you check out a drawing, the user should be prompted to update the properties. Are you not seeing the prompt?

Unfortunately not, I tried all prompt settings (never prompt/always prompt --> yes/yes to all), but no success with updating the revision number and table.

There is a difference between open the drawing from Vault with the Inventor addin and open the drawing from Vault with a right click.

If you are open the drawing with Inventor, you should be prompted, otherwise not.

What version of Vault are you two using?

2021 - latest update. But this was no different in 2018.

Hi ihayesjr The problem is that .. even when it come times update .. it does not always do. you have to do it in the right order.. or if would not work . I have not done the test needed to tell you when it does and when it does not. I am using vault 2020.1.1 at this time.

More, all properties should be dinamic, and not saved in documents, requiring actions from users. With a simple language sintax an administrator can set the informations he want in the drawing template and CAD read them whithout user actions. Sometimes firms neet to change the drawing template and need to re-print all the drawings. The actual system doesn't permit this.

Properties in drawings can be dynamic by creating formulas in the property.
