transfer configuration changes from one Vault to another Vault

Hello

There is an ability to derive new Vaults from an existing one. Doing so applies the same configuration to that new Vault. It will be a relly benefit for administrators to have the possibility to

- compare configurations between two Vaults

- transfer configuraton changes to another Vault

Thinking about an environment that consists of different stages of quality such as development quality and production, or having more than one Vault. At the moment changes made in one environment, Vault need to be applied manually to the next.

Hi @thomas_jamnik You can export the configuration from the first vault and import it into the second vault. Have you tried this?

Hello @ihayesjr

Of course it is possible to transfer a configuration to an new Vault during creation. But it is not poosible to do that for an existing Vault, Existing properties will be not changed. So this has to be done manally it is a huge efford and also to possiblitiy to doing errors are height. Second thing is it is not possible to compare configurations between two Vaults.

Hello @thomas_jamnik ,

you can import a configuration file as often as you wish, not only on creation of a new vault. As far as I know, importing will only add, never remove (you cannot delete a property by importing a configuration) and conflicting changes cannot be applied (e.g. a different lifecycle with the same name will not be replaced). Property mappings might not make it over at all because of a known bug.

As far as you only what to extend existing config by new behaviours, you should be good with re-importing a cfg-file

regards,

Tim
