Thin Client view DXF / STEP

Thin Client view DXF / STEP

Hi Community,

Autodesk Viewer (https://viewer.autodesk.com/) works well with viewing DXF, STEP and many other native CAD formats.

Forge Viewer implemented in Thin Client from what I know is based on viewing visualization dwf / dwfx files, which cannot be generated from DXF, STEP.

Is it something that is on the product roadmap to enhance viewing possibilities to Forge Viewer implemented in Vault Thin Client?

On the production, shop floor site DXF, STEP are important file formats to review (it would be great to review it within the internet browser - thin client).

Regards,

Maciej

Hello,

When you are using AUTODESK VIEWER throught the AUTODESK portal, you are able to display plnety of different types of file, such as STEP. It is possible to create attachments between INVENTOR file and STEP files by using ANYCAD and save the document tree in VAULT PRO. The DWF file is created for the INVENTOR file to let anyone view trough VAULT PRO. However, the native STEP file is not displayed because this format looks not to be supported by the same engine used through the AUTODESK portal.

Would it be possible to let AUTODESK VIEWER show the STEP file (or other format) in VAULT PROFESSIONAL ?

Thanks
