The new search functionality in-CAD (lets say AutoCAD) is great, specially the way it shows item links inside the folder viewed in the search window (and double-clicking these links will show the attached files).
What I'm missing is a search on these (at least!) links. It is wonderful I can double click on the item link and get the associated drawing files to choose for open, but I would like to see a search on item attributes - mainly item number of course, in order to locate the desired file for opening.
As it is implemented at the moment, the user is able to search only files or folders, and the functionality with double-clicking an item link can be used only if I already know where it's at.
If an item search function will be available, many designers will rarely have to even open the client for their daily work, if at all.
