I think they archived this not because it's not possible but they think it would hurt their license sales.

I'd argue no. We want to give tablets to the technicians in the workshop so they can look at the drawings digitally rather than having to print them out on paper. They don't currently have licenses and they never will as it is far too expensive to use just to look at drawings. So Autodesk wouldn't be loosing out on sales of licenses.
Come on Autodesk, help companies be more environmentally friendly by not forcing them to waste paper and help them move into the digital age!
