Hi,
We have the following initial situation:
There is an assembly+drawing, at a later time our documentation department creates an IPN and from it an own drawing (drawing is necessary as IPN does not provide detail views, sections, position numbers etc).
At a later point in time, the designer would like to copy the IAM with Copy Design, whereby several components are also copied. The IPN should not be copied at this time. Since several components including the drawing are to be copied, we use the option "Link drawings with model".
Copy Design tries to use the "Auto" action to also copy the IPN together with the associated DWG. However, Copy Design wants to give the same file name to the DWG of the IAM and the DWG of the IPN, which is rightly not possible.
For us, only two alternatives remain here:
1) Disable the option "Link drawings with model". Disadvantage: All DWGs have to be copied manually, moreover they cannot get the same file name as the models.
2) Set IPN manually to copy instead of auto, which will give the copied IPN and its DWG their own number. However, since this is not needed, it must be deleted again afterwards.
Copying the IAM, where several components are copied together with the DWG, but the parent IPN is excluded is not possible. Also a manual exclusion of the IPN is not possible.
Either the option to not consider IPNs as "drawing" in the option "Link drawings with model" or to manually exclude the IPNs noted with action "Auto" is needed here.
Kind Regards
Robin
