Can you please add a little more detail to this request? Maybe some step by step instructions of what you are trying to do and why it is an important feature to add?
The property in vault is from type "date".In Vault the value just shows the date (e.g. 27.05.2011), but in Autocad the value shows the date AND the time (e.g. 27.05.2011 08:30:22). I would like to have the value without the time in the title block.
Yes please - this is ahuge pain. If you edit a date in Vault, get latest and open in AutoCAD, it adds a time to the date property. If you edit the property in Autocad to not have the time, the date field is completely emptied when the file is checked back in.
The increasing implementation of Vault in global organisations, to eliminate the number of limitations and assist in Autodesk Vault gaining a increased portion of the data management market.
The scenario:
Vault date UDP.
AutoCAD attribute.
Vault UDP mapped to AutoCAD attribute to obtain date.
The date in the AutoCAD attributes displays as 03/04/2016 12:00AM (dd/mm/yyyy mm:ss am/pm)
The expected attribute value displayed in AutoCAD should be 03/04/2016 (dd/mm/yyyy) NO TIME.
This has been fixed in Inventor, but has not been considered necessary in AutoCAD.
Fields can also be used to rectify, but with other organisational integration requirements, fields are not practical.
As Vault is being increasingly implemented, I believe that AutoDESK needs to act on this quickly.
I am not sure fields are the answer either. I use fields and get the time with my dates. When I delete the 12:00 from the date in AutoCAD, it deletes the property from Vault. I agree this needs to be rectified.
Just to clarify - this problem has never existed in Inventor.
