Part of my duties to add, modify or make inactive different users account inside of Vault because of this I'm in user management window every day. Now what I would love to have is a filter for this window so I can set it not to display those accounts that are inactive or to filter the user names. While we can sort by whether or not the account is enable, it just makes more since to have a filter.
If we can't have a filter, how about a search option?
When adding users or groups to lifecycle definitions, other groups, or other settings, do not show disabled user or group accounts in the list. Or put a check box to only show enabled accounts in the lists.
For large companies that have many ex-employees with disabled accounts, this would speed up the process of selecting users by removing them from the list.
If you ever create a group or user in Vault and then disable the group because you no longer need it or if a user leaves the company, the group and user always remains visible in the lists. I would like the ability to filter out permanently old groups and users. It would be nice if you have to deliberately click something else to be able to see old groups and users without having to see them each time you view the lists. The clutter gets distracting.
Also, would be beneficial to be able add a description to a group name and display it in the columns for more information.
@Anonymous that's right. A permanent solution to hiding unused users and groups is desired, I don't want to have to do it every time I look at the screen.
It would be nice if users that are no longer active are moved to a separate tab (inactive users) automatically, if their status is changed (and vice versa). This will keep your list of active users clear, especially when you face a large staff turnover. Must be quite easy to implement and could be part of a servicepack (perhaps 2019 sp1 ??).
I need to see how many users are actively assigned to each of 5 different vaults on one server. If I list users I can filter on enabled = yes. If I change to "by vault" I can see what users are assigned to each vault, but the enabled column is not shown so this can't be filtered.
Suggested changes
Either put a "column chooser" in the users dialog, so the enabled column can be shown in this view
or
Put a "show only enabled users" checkbox in the dialog.
