Enable “Display Edges” for Inventor models in Autodesk Viewer inside Vault Thick/Thin Client

In Vault 2025 Thick Client and Thin Client, the integrated Autodesk Viewer shows the “Display Edges” option, but it is disabled or has no effect for Inventor IPT/IAM files.
This makes technical review difficult compared with Inventor’s “Shaded with Edges” display.
Please enable visible model edges for Inventor files in the Vault integrated viewer, or provide an administrator/user setting to force edges visibility by default.

Thank you for posting the idea. Can you upload that part to viewer.autodesk.com and see if the Display Edges works there?

Thank you for your reply.

I uploaded the same model to viewer.autodesk.com and I can confirm that the Display Edges option is available there and works, at least partially.

I attached a screenshot showing the result. Some edges / surface outlines are displayed correctly in viewer.autodesk.com, but the result is not fully consistent: some expected edges are still missing or not clearly visible.

I also noticed another issue: the Display Lines option does not seem to have any visible effect in viewer.autodesk.com, even when it is enabled.

So the behavior seems to be different between:

• viewer.autodesk.com, where “Display Edges” works partially
• Autodesk Viewer integrated in Vault, where the “Display Edges” option is disabled or does not work for the same model

Could you confirm whether the Vault integrated viewer uses the same viewer engine and translation settings as viewer.autodesk.com?
Is there a known limitation with DWF / Inventor model translation regarding edges and lines display?

@ihayesjr: Today I noticed the same thing: in Autodesk Viewer integrated in Vault, Display Edges cannot be activated in both Vault thin client and Vault Professional desktop app. Only Display lines work for straight lines. It looks like it does not work for round, circular, and non-linear lines/edges. And as mentioned @fernando_taboadaLCAK7 it is a major issue as one cannot properly see the model details as in Inventor “Shaded with Edges” display.
