Do not show OBSOLETE items when using Place From Vault

I need to see files that have the Lifecycle State OBSOLETE in Vault Explorer, but I don't want to see them when I'm using Place From Vault command in Inventor. It would be very handy to have a toggle for this in the Place From Vault window.

In good old Compass it's possible for many years. Why not in Vault.

Maybe a tick box/radio button for all of the Lifecycle states used in my setup. Then I can enable/disable to suit my needs.

being able to deploy default views to users and usergroups would probably solve this one.

I'm assuming that this would hold true for items to. If a file is attached to an item which is Obsolete, you wouldn't able to place the file.

This makes absoute sense.  I will add one more.  If you have files in the vault that have the state of "Released" and vault KNOWS you can't check it out, if you just want to open it up to look at, why on earth does it ask you to check it out when it won't let you because of the released state!!!!

As a workaround you can create a saved search, that excludes files with the property Obselete.

But i agree, there should be a way to spread gridstates, searches, custom views, via the vault server.

Furthermore, I have Vault configured to not show OBSOLETE files for certain users, but when these users place files (not OBSOLETE) on an ECO and then change the file State to OBSOLETE, the files then can't be seen on the Records tab of the ECO. I think that in an ECO all files should be visible regardless of State or user permissions.

This capability has been implemented with Autodesk Vault 2019.

Hi, it seems like Autodesk tried to solve this with a filter but in my "place from vault" dialog box it does not hide obsolete files. Does anyone know how this function works?

Ignore "obsolete" state only works for advanced search. When selecting a folder it will show all files including obsolete files.
