4K Unterstützung

4K Unterstützung

Hallo,

Hello,

Unfortunately, Vault does not support the 4K resolution possible today.

In the sense of this technical possibility, it would be very nice not only to be able to work in the Inventor with 4K, but to be able to use this also in the Vault.

The following is only of limited help and does not cover all dialog boxes.

Customers are asking for Vault to support 4K displays.

Until this is supported by the Vault client, consider this workaround.

Consider changing the scaling to 100% or switch the resolution to full High Definition or lower.

Alternatively, disable scaling on high DP settings:
  1. Close the Vault client. Right click the icon used to run the program and select "Properties"
  2. On the "Compatibility" tab tick the "Disable scaling on high DPI sttings"

Disable scaling is not working fine on laptops with 4k LCDs where we have to scale up the text in windows.

Enable "override scaling" & choosing "System" is on his side working fine, scaling dialogs & project browser text properly !

Autodesk should implement this setup as default one if 4K support is too complicated.

Working on a laptop with a 4k monitor makes using vault nearly impossible. I can't just carry a 1080p screen with me and with a 100% scaling everything is just way to small.

It should really be implemented. We didn't even think that we could get scaling problems when we ordered the laptop since 4k screens are around for quite a while now.

Autodesk should urgently work on a 4K support. More and more 4K monitors are being used

Hi,

I see that Autodesk are considering it for the future, it is very disappointing to see such a response, especially when it was first brought up over a year ago.

In most cases the CAD teams or projects users don't have the luxury to choose the hardware they use, therefore it is not appropriate to ask users to workaround the inadequate functionality of a piece of software.

We have a number of multi-million dollar projects riding on the immediate need for a hi-resolution fix. If a resolution is not going to be available soon, we will have to consider alternative software in the near future.

Today we use Autodesk Vault Pro 2019. Currently our company has exchanged all meeting room projectors with 4K LCD monitors around the globe.  We have then several hundred projet and engineering employees using this monitors daily. From today Autodesk Vault client is out of order in this teams due to not support high res 4K monitors. Internally this case went out to highly discussed issue. Hopefully Autodesk came out with an update in a hurry?

Applications other software manufacturers such as microsoft or Adobe make no problem with 4K monitors

We are rolling out new monitors on the engineering department and experience the same issues here.

Must be solved quickly.

It's a bit embarrassing to return to my many high-resolution users with workaround resolution like this. It's 2020 and 4k is an established standard. Please get this resolved.

Vault is an integral product to Inventor and vice versa. Having inconsistent graphics support is like asking customers with notebooks to carry around a second, last generation notebook and run one notebook for Inventor and the other for Vault. Or in the case of customers who work on desktop systems, to have one monitor as a 4K for Inventor and a lower resolution monitor for Vault. It is crazy to have applications that are designed to work together to have incompatible user interfaces, which, not supporting 4K does. Also, don't forget a lot of companies had to move to new computers with the required move to Windows 10. Should customers be hog-tied to old graphics technology during an upgrade in system hardware that may not take place again for two or more years?

It is not sufficient to say this may be fixed in a subsequent version of the software. Rather the 2020 product needs to be upgraded via the next point release as many customers who have moved to this version will be staying on it before upgrading again. Support for 4K monitors in Vault should be included in the 2021 release too whose release is just around the corner.

We won't wait for 4K support for years. If this is not fixed in the 2021 version, we will seriously consider changing the system.

Correct, in our company is 4K monitor company standard and Vault are a application we on daily basis has to try to explain users why sucks on their monitors....
Vault 2021 has to have this issue solved!

Implementing this quickly during the Coronavirus-19 pandemic would be a big help to work-from-home types.

Per Autodesk support:

"We currently don't support Vault with 4K displays..."

Please support 4K displays.

Hello everyone

We would like to check with you on this request. Currently we have a way to get Vault to work on 4K Monitors by setting the following option.

DPI.png

So question is,

  1. Has anyone tried this option?
  2. Is yes, Do you still an issue with the display after changing this settings?
  3. If you see an issue can you please let us know what is the issue?

We would like to hear from you on the above. So your reply to these questions will be highly appreciated.

Thanks a lot.
