why does it not update ?

why does the Properties in an item not always ? I have a problem in vault anyone know if it is a user error or an program error ? I think it the error might be in 1/1000 files.  to fix it I need to check out and make a change to the file and chech and update item or simple delete the item and create it again

I use vault 2020.1.1 update with Item workflow

Is it possible to get your mapping for that property?  I tried the workflow in 2020.2.1 with the attached mapping and it updated the property as expected.

You have the proper mapping so it should be working.  Since you mentioned that it is having the issue not often or on a select set of files, is it possible for you to open a support case and add one of those files to the case?  This way we can work with you to resolve the issue.  This could be something either in the file or within the database that is causing the problem and troubleshooting via the newsgroup is not ideal.

I might do that next time. But I do not believe that would help very mush.

I do not believe it is a file problem. First of all you do not need to change the fil to fix the problem.

You can do it one of to ways.


1. You can simple delete the item, and when you create the item form the fil it will be updatet
2. You can make an change to the file.. simple add an emtry sketch to the part and check the fil end and update item , and it is fix

I know an little about programming. So what I believe is that for some reason it is set to already be up to date and therefor it is set to not update it to save resource .. it make sense to do what you can to make sure not to update thing that are already up to date. But if the variable for some reason it set wrong because of an error in the code or if the program for some reason crashes before it have set the variable to that the item needed to be updated ... and save this.

I of cause do not know this for sure sind I do not have the Source code for the vault

Unfortunately, I am unable to reproduce the problem you are seeing which is why I am suggesting the support case.  I would like to get the issue resolved for you because there is a chance it could be impacting other customers as well.
