Hi All,
When using Vault revision table/tags and revision bumps based on a Lifecycle, is it possible to get the revision tag to show/update to the next primary (released) revision? Why you ask – we want the checker to be able to see what revision the tag is supposed be referencing i.e. When the checker sees the drawing at 1.a (secondary “internal” revisions are used for checking/reviews) we want the tag to display “2” or at least display “1.a” then update to “2” when the drawing is set to a released state:
Currently the tag gets set to the previously release state/last line on revision table, even though the tag was placed after that release occurred:
Then when the drawing is released at revision 2, the revision tag remains at 1 after the lifecycle revision bump, whattha!:
It looks like there are a few ways around this:
- After the drawing has been moved into a Release state, move it into the Quick Change state open the drawing and right click on the tag and manually change it to revision 2. This opens a can of worms, as we only want the administrator to have edit rights to this state, and it’s an extra step that shouldn’t have to be taken:
2. Create a sketch symbol that is mapped to the Revision Number iproperty, and place that instead of the revision tag. I prefer this method, but it will still require training so users don’t place the normal revision tag:
I hope that someone else has found a better solution, or that there is something I am missing!
Thanks in advance,
James
