I appreciate the help you can give me. we have a virtual machine with a windows server 2016, autodesk vault basic 2018, microsoft sql express 2016.
It has been working fine for 3 months, but 3 days ago the ADMS login keys it's not working, then with the diagnostic utility we find that autodesk Vault does not connect to sql database. We installed the Sql Management Studio, the user sa and the password work well, the instance is created, no update has been made, the failure occurred without doing anything.
We think it may be an update to sql express some fix or patch installed by Windows Update Services.
I need great help, someone to give us a hand, to give us a step-by-step solution. Thank you very much for the help and the time.
It sounds like the logon account for the SQL service has changed.
If you go to Windows local services, you'll see a service for SQL Server -> if you go to the properties then the logon tab, whoever installed Vault might have thought it was a good idea to use a company/domain account for this, which really isn't a good idea, because when someone changes their password the service then fails. This might not be the problem, but either way check to see if the service is set to NETWORKSERVICE.

After reviewing all the suggestions of autodesk, we contacted a partner in our country, who kindly helped us by entering the virtual machine and with a small software, deleted the password of the administrator user, in the end everything was fine, the password of the user sa by default.
the ADMS is connected and working with the database.
