Vault 2012 Check In Error

Wee are geeting the attached error when trying to check anything into the Vault. You can see the Vault and check files out. You just can not check them back in.

Any help here would be great. I put in a support ticket for this on the subscription site but was hoping someone here might have some experience with this also.

What level and version of SQL are you using?   Note SQL Express has limitations and for an example, SQL Express 2005 is limited to a 4GB database size..    Meaning reaching this limitation can cause your  error.

Edited:

If its SQL express, try purging your database and perform a defrag to reduce size.   If not SQL express, are you performing normal SQL maintenace on the database.

Hello,

sometimes the issue is caused by some specific user defined properties on your Inventor files you want to checkin.

I have seen this for example on some corrupted property values (look for strange special characters).

If you want to know by 100% if some of the properties caused the issue you need to delete them all and see if the file now checks in.

If you can now checkin you know it is one of the properties.

it is not always so easy to find out which property causes the issue (often you need to delete the properties one by one and try the checkin again).

I hope this way maybe helpful.

I do not think that this is a property issue since it is happening to ALL users through the system. We did a full backup last night and my IT support has pulled down a upgrade to our SQL software. It appears our data base has reach its limit. We will see today if this works for us.

At this point we are still just using the free Vault (2012) and the SQL that comes with it.

We have purchased Vault Pro to upgrade all of our installation and at that time intended to upgrade the SQL as well. Just need to get this working until then.

Thanks will post back if this works

Well we upgraded from SQL 2008 Express to SQL 2008R2 Express and that sems to have fixed us for now.

We will be looking at going full blown SQL once we upgrade to Vault Pro soon.
