Hi,
In vault we create assemblies for customer projects that we want to share with customers, the most used file format in our field is .step/.stp. Ideally I want sales people to be able to acces to vault or a database where they can acces these .stp files.
These .stp files needs to be in sync with the latest release of the assembly, so after every release the .stp needs to be updated to the latest revision. Ofcourse I don't want to do this manually because this will allow desyncs to happen and that goes in against the concept of PDM.
I expected a functionality like this to be available in vault, or atleast be able to use iLogic to automate proces in vault. But i havent been able to find much, only some post about this topic between 2016-2019 but in 4-7 years many things probably have been changed.
Information/solutions are greatly appreciated, thanks!

Talk to your reseller (or take a look at CoolOrange) for a solution to extend your jobprocessor to do this automatically.
I use a solution from NTI and create zipped dwg's and pdf of inventor drawings, dxf of sheetmetal flatpattern, step of all parts etc. on release and store them in vault.

I contacted the reseller and there are custom solutions that can be build for this functionality.
Ofcourse this will takes development and costs unnecesserily high amounts of money.
I have to say i'm very suprised that this isn't a basic functionality in vault, in my field everyone uses .stp to transfer 3D files, so to me it seems there would be a big support base for this

We also use Coolorange for this.
I think Autodesk itself is busy implementing STEP file creation in Vault for 1 of the comming releases (same as PDF).
