SQL 2017/2019

I want to copy our production Vault to a test env.

Our Vault runs on 2025 and SQL express 2019. When I install Vault 2025, it comes with SQL 2017.

The  restore process did not work  - I think because the 2017 version of SQL. Installing SQL 2019 on top of it, did not solve the issue. Now I uninstalled both Vault and SQL.

What's the workflow to get a Vault 2025 with SQL 2019 Express, so I can restore a copy of our live vault?

Many Thx.

Did you check the releasenumber (CU) of the SQL 2019 upgrade you applied? It should work when you do it that way and the SQL CU of the server you're restoring to is the same or higher as the one the backup comes from.

When you install SQL Express 2019, you must go through specific steps to upgrade the 2017 instance. You most likely missed that step in the SQL installer. Re-run the SQL Express 2019 installer and choose the upgrade option. Then, you will have to select the AutodeskVault instance of SQL 2017.
