Any idea how to search by appearance?
Or is this not possible because it can be overridden at so many different levels?

Hi James. I don't think this is possible, in fact I don't even see Appearance as a searchable property. It may be for the reason you mentioned or even because a single part can contain multiple appearances. You CAN search by Material, if that helps at all. Good luck!

Yeah, I found the material attribute, but the user is looking for a specific file and probably half of our entire vault is mild steel.

Is there no other unique criteria the user can search on? Date Created, Author etc?
