I'm currently working on setting up a 3D pdf template.  I would like to know what vault version the PDF was created from by putting that information in the title block.  I would like to map version number to a custom property that can be displayed on the PDF.  Ideally the property would follow the indexing of version numbers such that when I check out a file it is updated.

I realize this is what Revisions are for, however I still think we will need better resolution (version number) as anyone can republish the PDF from the model.

I think this should be possible but with the help of 3rd party applications, you will need to get into the API to extract the version number, i use coolOrange powerJobs to pull out all sorts of info and put it on the titleblock

if you have a 3rd party add on to your job processor maybe a better question asked in the customisation forum

i have not tested but i would presume along the lines of once you have reference the file, set a variable to the value of the version

$TBVersion = $file.'version'

Then map that variable value to a UDP!
Update-VaultFile -File $file.'Full Path' -Properties @{'TBVersion' = $TBVersion}

Cheers

Thanks for the tip.  I will investigate.  I wish Vault had a native logic tool like iLogic in Inventor.
