Questions for Duplicate File Search by Geometry

The Vault Professional has tutorials mentioning the Vault can search for duplicate files by name or part geometry. I have tried this with sample parts but cannot verify duplicates of same geometry.

I have made copies of parts under different names but the prompts cannot show these parts under "Find Duplicate Names". Is this command only for similar names, or is there a way to activate geometry searches?

"Find Duplicate Names" only looks for files with duplicate names. That has nothing to do with geometry.

You need to make sure you have turned on Duplicate Search and you have the Job Processor running so that it can index the files for the geometry.

Thank you for your guidance. I can confirm the duplicate search is active on my end. My company uses Vault Professional 2022, will there be any difference in establishing the index and search settings or are they similar to 2023? I am working with my team to setup permissions as I cannot add folders to the index.

The settings are the same in 2023 and 2024.
