Orphan file

Is a file (ipt or iam) that is only used in previous versions of something, but not used in any latest versions/revisions, an orphan file?

Thx, Johan

I always thought of orphan files as not being used anywhere, old or new.  If it is used in a previous version, but not current you could probably safely remove it.  But what happens later if you decide to bring back the previous version?  🤔

You could purge the versions of the file that are not being used by other files. However, the version that is being used is not orphaned.

I'll go with this statement.
