Multiple versions of same file in change state dialog.

When I try to change the state of some items in my vault I get a dialog that looks like this one. Where several versions of the same file are shown in the browser window and Vault highlights an error with one or more items not being the latest version, despite having the latest version of the files all listed. Why does this occur and how do i fix it?

Thanks in advance people.

There is no local copy on My machine.

Is what is on anyone elses machine an issue? I was under the understanding that Vault would just change the file then propagate those changes to the user when they next get (or workspace sync) the file. Or disallow them to save any changes to the local file on their machine.

In the dialog box, change the view from the Folder view to the Tree view.

That makes no difference at all.

That is the List View not the Tree View. Try the next button to the right.

Yes, that is the view and explains why you are seeing it twice.

You started your Change State from the drawing and you have the option to see parent files turned on. So the dialog is showing you the file you started with, the drawing, and that the drawing is a parent to the part file.

If you started your Change State from the top-level assembly and had the show parents option turned on, you should only see the drawing file one time.

I get the same from the .IAM

And almost the same from the leg or foot plate ipt files contained within the iam.

Correct me if I am wrong but the image is telling me that the drawing is the parent to the assembly and two parts. So it still has to show it multiple times.

But the drawing isn't directly parent to the parts.

Can you open the drawing in Inventor and see what the Model Browser and the Vault Browser show?
