Library Transfer Failure

The company has recently moved from Inventor 2014 to 2018 inluding vault basic.

we successfully migrated the vast majority of items across and also moved our custom content center into the vault too.

Unfortunately a few authored content center parts were missed.

I have since been trying to put them into the vault CC using the transfer tool with no luck. I have managed this previosuly with other version of Inventor so I am stumped as to why this workflow will not work here.

I have ensured I read/write access to the file and relevant folders where the source library is kept, but no matter what I try it constantly fail with the error message as attached.

all the parts in the CC library are independant and error free.

I currently do not have access to install this CC form the admin/server side of things.

if anyone can shed some light on this it woudl be appreciated.

Hi,

Do you know which upgrade path for Vault has been used? Vault server can't be upgraded from 2014-2018 in one step (see also this link). I assume you already logged in to Vault in the Transfer Guide with an Vault administrator account? Maybe the server logs can give some more detail on why it fails..

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

You are correct in that I was using an full admin account to try and transfer the items in.

IT installed the vault as a new install and migrated our existing vault over, beyond that I do not know what other processes they went through as they did not invovle the CAD dept in the process.

I am currently seeking access to the ADMS, and by proxy the logs, but this may take time, which is why I want to exhaust all possible options at the client side first.

Hi,

I don't know any other option you could try on the local system unfortunately. If it is possible/ allowed for you to share the Desktop Library, I could try to transfer it to the Vault for you on my system. (Upload the zipped library by using WeTransfer or something like that and send me a private message with the link). If it is not possible due to company policies or something like that I would understand.

One other option I can think of, which you could test cient side, is to install Vault Basic Server on your system (fresh install) and try to transfer the library to this server/vault. If that works, then something is corrupt on the server side I would think..
