The Job Processor seems to download files for processing at a low priority. If you send a few large Inventor GA drawings for a DWF publish, it can take hours to process. This leads to a backlog of jobs and then 'non tip' errors. I would like an option where customers have purchased dedicated Job Processor workstations for the Job Processor to run at maximum speed, not in the background.
An recent example showed a large GA had to download 1500 files to create the DWF. The Job Processor took 45minutes to download the files to create the DWF. On the same machine from the Vault Client, the same dataset downloaded in a few seconds. I want that speed for a dedicated Job Processor.

@Anonymous, are you running the Job Processor using the Windows Task Scheduler?

The Job Processor PC is a dedicated workstation running the Job Processor on Windows login. Its running 24/7 serving the queue.
We have not used the Windows Task Scheduler to start/stop the JP.

I can absolutely confirm this is an issue with Job Processor.
I'm working with a customer that is creating very large assemblies, they noticed the issue and brought it to my attention. Did some testing myself and can observe the issue first hand. In fact, the dataset I am testing with will download entirely to an empty workspace within 1-2 minutes but it takes over 60 minutes to download for the purpose of Job Processor!
This is Inventor 2016 and Vault 2016 with all available updates. Dedicated machine.

Correction; Download using Get from Vault Explorer was approximately 30 seconds, download as a result of Job Processor was just under 2 hours (110 minutes).

Tried with 2017, same issue.
I am going to log a case with Autodesk because this shouldn't really be a wishlist item, its an issue that needs fixed.

Thanks Ryan for reporting the issue to support. I have moved this to the discussion forum as I agree with your statement and we need to investigate the issue.

We're also experiencing this. What was the outcome of the investigation?
Thanks.

Have you applied 2017.0.2 update? It seems to improve the JobProcessor download speed.
Paul.
