How do I disable the Layouts from Batch Plotting in Vault?

I am trying to plot AutoCAD and ACADM drawings from Vault and when I add the files to the list, it shows the Layouts.  I am then forced to "Exclude" them from the list.  Is there a way to tell Vault to only plot the Model all of the time from AutoCAD drawings in Vault?

Also, how to permanently set the paper size, black & white and Fit to Page options for all dwgs?

Hi,

For now there is no way to remove the layouts by default. Publish options are not helping here. Thanks for posting this issue. We will look into that.

@Senthil_Kumar

I might add that batch plotting from Vault is not a very useful tool at all.  Not only do we still have the issue with needing to manually include or exclude what we want, but it takes an unacceptably long time to even read and compile the list of files.  Longer still to even process them.  My users can manually print to a PDF, one file at a time, and them combine the individual files into a new pdf set faster than Vault can even create the list using batch plot.  This is with Vault 2020.

Here is an image taken, over 20 minutes into processing a list of 12 dwg files.

Any update to the request to only bring in Model Space?  Seems like a lot of time wasted added, just to then have to exclude the Layout Space.

Have you looked at batch plotting from the DWF file instead of the DWG? In the DWF publish options you can exclude the Layouts which would make only the Model Space available.

Also, I could not find this request in our Ideas board. Please post the idea there.

DWF's are great if they exist, this is not always the case for Autocad files generated 15-20 years ago that have just been recently moved into the Vault from an Explorer based vault.  The other issue I have seen is DWF's getting disconnected from their original files.  We just merged another sister company's data into ours, the DWFs were in the Vault, but the check in stamp was different.  The DWF was no longer connected and no longer represented the latest released drawing.  In the case of Thin Client, you are covered because it doesn't show up, but in the Vault it would.  I'm currently trying to streamline the process that our manufacturing services uses to print drawings for shop packs utilizing the tools Vault has.  Thin Client is a "one at a time" affair that requires people to download the file, open in viewer and then print. This is about 9 clicks, 9 clicks time 50 shop packs adds quite a bit of time, hence trying to get the Batch Plot to be a useful tool.

I recommend that you take a look at the new Thin Client in Vault 2022.
