Vault - Open file interface doesn't allow drop-down menu from selecting file type. When you navigate to open an existing document from within Inventor (open local), the default interface allows you to click on the File Type drop-down menu to select a specific file extension. When you try opening from Vault, the File Type bar does not have drop-down selection available. You have to click ALL the way to the right of the bar and access the drop-down marker to view file types.
Please note the cursor that is present in the first screenshot below (Open Vault interface from within Inventor). It should allow direct selection as per second image (Open interface from within Inventor).
