Error 8001 - Could not update configuration file

Hello group.  I am getting this error after some major troubles (we were hacked with ransomware).  We are getting our systems back on line now and the Vault server is having troubles.  Initially, the SQL database was saying the msdb database was missing or inaccessible so I found how to recreate it.  SQL now seems to work fine.  Then I was getting an error starting Vault WG Server (something with web.config) and fixed that somehow.  Now Vault WG Server starts OK and all seems well on that end.

Now on the workstation, Vault WG client, I can sign in but when it shows the main Vault window it says:

So this is where I am stuck.  I also tried this on another workstation and same error.  So I uninstalled VWG 2020 and reinstalled it, and same error.  Not sure what to do at this point.  40 some users waiting to get back to work (after losing two weeks).

I already initiated a support case with Autodesk but no engagement yet.  In the office today (Sunday) trying to get this to work.

thanks

Could you please check on your vault server that "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Vault Server 2022\Server\Components\ContentSourcePropertyProviderCfg.xml" is not readonly?

I have also tried to Uninstall/Change the Vault Workgroup 2020 app and get this error:

So I can't even repair the application.

Ok, inside "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Vault Server 2022\Setup\en-US\Setup\setup.ini"

There should be a section saying:

[ServerMaintVerifyReadyDlg]
UI_CREATOR=MaintVerifyReadyDialog
UI_SOURCE=Setup\SetupAcadUi.dll
UI_FINALIZE=WarningForUnistallingADMS
UI_FINALIZE_SOURCE=Setup\EdmUI.dll

if not, please retrieve a new setup.ini file from the installation source (probably internet download)

Thanks for your reply.

I checked the file and there is no section for that.  At the bottom there is this:

Which doesn't look good.  Any ideas where I can get this file, or at least the sections at the bottom?

thanks

Found a copy of it in our install location.  The repair/reinstall is now working!  We will see how it does...

thanks

Well the repair didn't work, the reinstall didn't work and we had to do an uninstall and reinstall.  Autodesk support walked me through that.  We copied all of the database files to another location and uninstalled VWG 2020 Server.  Reinstalled, and applied a service patch and it came up perfectly.   I didn't even have to attach the master database.  Users can attach and everything is working fine now.  We used this as a guide:
