Disk space issue for Vault backup

The Vault safe system is currently running on a virtual machine that doesn't have sufficient disk space to perform a full backup. It's also not possible to increase the disk space on this virtual machine because the server it's hosted on is also running low on disk space. As someone without a background in IT (our previous IT specialist recently left the company), I'm not sure how to address this issue.

We attempted to share a local drive with ample space through an RDP connection, but encountered permission issues. I suspect this is due to the fact that the Vault server is not on the same domain as the machine we were using for the RDP connection.

I'm considering attempting to clone the machine onto a local system and increase the disk space to perform the backup, but I have no idea how that will turn out.

Do you have a solution to suggest to me?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

How many Terabytes is that Filestore? Have you contacted your Autodesk reseller yet?

Some virtual environments such as Azure will give you the option to backup by snapshot, which you could set under the Azure management portal/platform (I found out how to do this once with minimal help just by looking through the options):
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/backup/backup-azure-vms-introduction

The official way of using a remote backup on another machine would require the same domain, which you could try via the Domain and Trust utility:

Other than that, yeah you might want to take that into a local system to have better control.

Hello,

we are not on Azure; the server is a physical one hosted in our company, and the virtual machine is managed with Hyper-V. The Vault safe backup needs to be approximately 160GB. The trusted domain utility is a good idea, I think; however, not being an expert, I'm hesitant to proceed with this process.

The simplest solution for me, considering my skills, is to clone the machine locally. I wanted to make sure I wasn't overlooking a simpler solution before diving in.
