Deploy Vault Files (get) Automatically for Every User

When I was at AU 2022, one of the speakers mentioned an add-on that would push files to the users workspace as specified by the Admin. I can't remember the name of the add-on or anything in google search results. This would be ideal for the design data folder. Any ideas?

I use a tool from NTI that does it quite nicely (NTI Vault deployment). It is a small client script in the user startup folder that silently and automaticalle gets what the admin specifies on windows logon. Makes administering design data, templates, vault settings, project file and addin configuration sooo much nicer.. Of course we hope to see it supported in vault proper soon...

Thanks. I'll see if we can try it out.

Our Reseller offers a similar application for an annual per-user fee.

@dsouva

We have customized the DLLs to ensure when a user opens Inventor it automatically will get from Vault the template files.  This has allowed us to ensure users are getting the most up to date each day, I would need to look but it may be each time Inventor is open.

@dsouva

Was it Workspace Sync?

Workspace Sync requires the user to run the command. I'm looking for a more automatic way. One that will automatically sync a folder when the user starts Vault.

You can configure Workspace Sync to automatically run.

This could work. Is there a way to specify synchronizing only specific folders? ie. $\Designs\CAD Support\Templates

-S

The full path to a valid synchronization settings file (optional). The synchronization settings file specifies the syncrhonization options. For more information on exporting a settings file, see Specify Workspace Sync Settings.

I saw that but I assume it is referring to these settings (screenshot attached) but I don't see how to specify a specific folder to synchronize.

Sorry, I misunderstood your last question.

Workspace Sync will sync all folders. There isn't a way to select specific folders.
