could not find the Data Management Services on SERVERNAME - Windows update

So yesterday my computer decided to update itself.

That resulted in the above message this morning.

Been through these two topics:
https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/vault-products/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles...
http://blogs.autodesk.com/vault/2017/12/windows-10-updates-breaks-vault-server/

IIS is running, and I can confirm that by going to http://localhost
However, going to http://localhost/AutodeskDM/Services/InformationService.svc provides me with: (sorry for the translation from danish. Not sure the English one uses the same words) "The file or assembly "connectivity.content" or one of its dependencies could be loaded. Access refused"

How do I deal with that?
Can I repair my vault installation without needing a backup? (because my backup script has been broken for longer than I care to admit, I just found out)

Also, I don't have a vault user on my computer. I do have an IIS_IUSRS though.

Hi Yannick,

You can open the ADMS Console and trigger a manual backup before starting repair operation or re-install.

It is odd, that there is no AutodeskVault User in your machine, so please try to start ADMS Console and do a backup for saftey anyhow.

After that try to repair / reinstall from appwiz.cpl

I managed to fix it by doing a repair (before backing up, because I was out of ideas, and someone said somewhere on this forum that you -shouldn't- lose files by it.)

In regards to users, this is my user list. Sorry for the Danish 😛

I would, however, like an updated vault backup script. I'm no shark at coding and got handed this by my reseller.

It was for 2017, and I only updated the folder structure for ADMS 2018. However, it doesn't create a backup. Can you, or anyone, tell me what's wrong? Doesn't matter whether I run it as admin or not.

I believe the server part is not correct:

C:\Program Files\Autodesk\ADMS2018\ADMS 2018\ADMS Console\Connectivity.ADMSConsole.exe"

 C:\Program Files\Autodesk\ADMS Professional 2018\ADMS Console\Connectivity.ADMSConsole.exe

Also make sure the ADMSConsole is closed in the task manager when trying to run the backup as it is only possible to open it once.

I forgot to mention... This is all Vault Basic.

The filepath is correct

And the directory path is correct?

Did you check if ADMS Console is running when you execute the script?

Is there enough disk space free?

Have you checked ADMSCONSOLE.log on C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\VaultServer\FileStore for errors?

For whatever reason it works now.

I did delete a ton off the harddrive, but there was 20 gb space to handle 6 gb vault when I tried earlier

I'm quite certain I didn't have ADMS console open.. But I might be wrong on that account.

If I run it as silent, will it just press yes to the dialogs about locking the vault?

Nope. I found the issue. Running it as silent makes it ignore those prompts and not create a backup.

How can I make it accept those dialogs (I.e. vault will be locked for defrag)? Because this script is set to run at 17.00, an hour after I usually leave my workplace

For whatever reason that runs now as well. I can't explain why it didn't  before.

Thank you very much for your help.
