Copy Design with Inventor and Excel files not working

Inventor 2015 with all updates

Vault Client 2017

Vault Server 2017

(Both Vault client/server were installed in mid July. I don't have access to see if they've been updated since)

I've reduced this down to a file and it still isn't working.

I have a file with an Excel file attached to it.

I check both in and out of Vault just fine.

When using Copy Design to copy the files to a new job folder and renaming them, the copy procedure seems to work just fine. I get a properly renamed IPT and XLS file in the new folder location. However, when checking out both files from their new location, the excel link in the IPT file is NOT pointing at the new XLS file. It's pointing at the original one.

Is there something i'm missing? Or is this a bug?

Thank you

Hello,

This issue sounds similar to a problem that we have seen with copy design when working with multiple references to excel files. I have created a report with development on this issue which is linked to our article here:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor-products/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcartic...

This article will be automatically updated when the status of the investigation changes.

When the problem occurs the new files are created but when you open them in Inventor the links are to the old files. Does that sound similar to the problem you are seeing?

That does indeed sound like the exact same thing. Looking forward to the results and resolution.
