Copy design - Action rule sets - only executes one rule

Hello,

i have defined three rules in one rule set. This worked well for a long time.

But now the problem is:

If the condition of one rule is met, only this rule will be executed and no further rules are executed.

I can't say exactly when this problem started. We noticed it later. Maybe it was after an update?!

I have created a new rule set, but it didn`t help

@Marc_B5

Copy Design only ever executed the first rule that matched the criteria.

@ihayesjr

When we started with Vault 2024 last year, it definitely wasn't like that.

3 rules in a set:

One rule that always sets the part number equal to the file name.

And two more rules that set a custom property to empty if it wasn`t empty.

I have done many copy operations like this and all three rules were executed.

According to this support case, several users have already reported this:

https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Copy-Design-Action...

I'm sure it was changed with an update, but unfortunately I can't say which one because we didn't notice the problem right away.

@Marc_B5

It has always worked that way. Yes, that article shows it was reported; the problem is that it was not updated to tell you it is working as designed.

I will get that article updated.

Sorry, the article does state it is working as designed.

See the Status section of the article.
