Can anyone explain why I can't check in a particular file into vault
It is an ipt file which is derived from another ipt file which I already have checked into vault.
When I try to check this ipt in, it comes up with error
Both files are on my workspace in the correct location.
So I am totally baffled by the message which tells me the contrary.

Maybe this will help figuring this one out
When I do a save on a idw that has that part in, it will save the idw but not that particular ipt,
it says that particular ipt is not the current version. Why, I haven't got a clue.

okay another clue
When I try to save that particular ipt it comes up with the following message
I am not sure why
Mike Kovacik
Okay all
Don't worry, instead of trying to figure out why it happened, I just deleted, redrew and then no problem,
to check it in. Sometimes it is quicker to redraw than try and figure out why it happened and what the solution is!!

I know you've got this already redone, but I noticed in your image that the error was telling you that the file was in fact in a folder other than your Project path. This could have been a part of the derived assembly perhaps? Hard to say without digging deeper.
If this happens again, let's take a closer look. Meanwhile, I assume you are up and running again?

No everything including the part and the part it was derived from were both in my project path.
Yes it was only that part I couldn't check in, everything else was fine.
I had saved the part a few days ago, then overwrote it today, something must have gone wrong there.
I redid it and it checked in fine. Much quicker than trying to fix whatever went wrong and waiting for responses.
Thanks anyway for the reply
Mike
I apologize for the slow response, I was taking a long weekend break to photograph some waterfalls up north with fall colors.
