Cannot change Item title

I have a couple of items in my Item Master for which I can't seem to change the Title. 

The item is in Edit Mode, I can change the Description just fine, but not the title. The Title text-box seems to be grayed-out also. 

This is just happening on a handful of items. 

What could be going on?

The Title is driven by the primary file attached to the Item.

Most likely your mapping for the Title property is one way, from File -> Item.

Check your property mapping for the Title property.

Keep in mind Vault will not be able to write back to a PDF.

Well spotted! 

The PDF was incorrectly associated as the Primary Link to the Item. 

Changing it back to the IPT file corrected the issue.
