Can you change the Thin client viewer?

The thick client has the option to use forge or design review for viewing files. Is this setting available in the thin client?

Some of our users see drawings differently when viewing them. They see heavy line weights or thick lines, where the thick client and inventor don't.

No, there are no other viewing options for the browser. The user will have to download the visualization file and use Autodesk Design Review.

@ihayesjr Hello, not part of the conversation above but also wanting to solve this issue.  We have Vault Pro 2022.  Currently viewing in Thick client 'using Autodesk Viewer, I also see multi-page pdfs one page at a time, in the view tab.

  • Previously having selected Autodesk Design Reviewer, it had worked to scroll with mouse to view all the pages.  However, since they upgraded computer.  Design review has to be as 32bit, got to go thru a repair & registering design review.

Now, back to Thin Client, does it need to be greater than 2022 to see the globe/eye icon?  As I only have the 'eye'.  Will this make the difference for viewing the pdf's fully vs page by page?  My computer does have Adobe Acrobat Pro as the default pdf viewer, Others have Foxit pdf viewer as their default.   I still see in Thin Client the page by page views, as it opens up within Thin Client to view or another separate tab which is also still thin client.

@plausa.us

That icon, "Open in Browser", feature was added in Vault 2023.

In 2022, you can use the Document Browser in the viewer to switch between pages.

@ihayesjr That is what we are using.  Not so much a hassle when viewing a drawing with a few pages.  But a big hassle when viewing, A Guide, Instruction book, or catalog that way.  A scroll feature as it goes thru the pages would be a mass improvement, as in seeing it like it would be in a pdf viewer like Adobe.

In 2022, if you download the PDF, it may open in the browser or does it just download the PDF?

Just download the pdf.  Then when you open it, it will go to your default browser to open.

We just don't wish to have everyone downloading pdfs to their local machine, especially if associated to a drawing than may get revised.
