Can Vault Pro 2014 client connect to and use a Vault 2013 Pro server?

If so, what does the licensing look like for that?  We have Vault Pro on subscription, if I install the 2014 licenses and replace the 2013 licenses, will 2013 clients pull a license still?

A Vault 2014 client will not work with a Vault 2013 server.

However, a Vault 2013 client will work with a Vault 2014 server. In this case Vault 2014 licenses are consumed.
