Can't search Content Center

Inventor pro 2018 / vault pro 2018 / sql server 2016

We upgraded from inventor/vault 2015 / sql server 2016. After the upgrade, the content center search didn't work.

I found a page that addresses this, but its suggestions aren't helping. 

"Search function in Inventor Content Center Library managed by Vault does not work | Vault Products ...

The cc libraries in ADMS console have the 'enable full text' option selected, and the Full-Text and Semantic Extractions for Search feature in SQL is on.

It looks like our sql server doesn't have a semantic language database installed, but I'm not sure if that's the issue or not.

Any other ideas?

Did you install the Inventor 2018 Content Center Libraries?

If so, open your project file using the Inventor Project File editor. Are there any errors showing in the project file relating to the Content Center libraries?

Nothing appears out of the ordinary.

The content center libraries are accessible, and the Advanced search works normally. Just the basic search window doesn't yield results.
