Automatic PDF creation during the check-in process

Greetings,

I am current using Vault Workgroup 2020, and I am fairly new at using Vault.  As of right now I have been able to test it on every aspect of our work process expect for the automatic creation of PDF's from vault to our network.  Vault will publish a dwf to our network location, but not a pdf, and it also publishes a copy to the vault.  What I want is to publish a pdf of one of our dwg to a network location for everyone in our facility have access to, and not publish a copy to the vault, during check-in?  It's probably something very simple, but I can't seem to figure it out.

Thanks,

Zane

It is not possible to create PDFs during check-in like DWF files. You must use the Job Processor to create the PDF and configure the PDF option to publish it to a network location. There isn't an option to only publish to the network location so they will get stored in Vault also.

Thank you for the response, so then what about the publishing to a network location?  It will publish a dwf, but I can't get it to publish a pdf.  I'm pretty sure I have everything set to publish to a network location, but I could have missed something.  Your Thoughts?

Thanks,

Zane

Did you configure the PDF publish location and make sure the user in which the Job Processor is running under has write access to that location?

Greetings all,

I am still having issues publishing my .pdf's to my network drive automatically upon check in from vault.  I can publish them manually from vault to my network drive.  I am able to publish .dwf's automatically upon check in to my network location, but it won't publish .pdf's.  All options are pointing to automatically publishing .pdf's to my network location, but it doesn't.  I have updated my client with all known vault updates, I am now at 2020.1.2.  When I was at AU this passed November, I visited the help center, and I was told that there might be an issue with the software itself, if so, is it being looked into, or is it something else entirely.

I have run out of patients and energy trying to figure out this automatic publishing of PDF's to a network location!  I've been working with it since returning from AU and I continue to get the same results.  Vault will publish a DWF to a network location upon check in, but not a PDF.  Every piece of documentation that I uncover, that is related to the publishing of PDF's didn't work for me.  Maybe I missed something, but I thought I had followed each document to the letter.  I brought this issue up to those that were working the help bar are AU last year and they could help me out while I was there, so they were going to look into it and get back to me, but I have yet to hear back, and I've been struggling, trying to get this to work.  Please respond ASAP with a solution.

I am running:

Vault Workgroup Client 2020

Windows 10 64 bit

64 gig ram

Server:

Vault Workgroup Server 2020

a dedicated virtual server for Vault

Windows Server 2016 64 bit

8 gig ram

SQL Express

This issue is most likely unique to your environment. Please create a product support case with your partner or Autodesk so that it can be investigated.
