After Update to Vault 2015 Landing Page still shows 2014 Landing Page

Hi, we use Vault Basic 2013 Client and a Vault Basic 2015 Server. Before updating the server from 2014 to 2015 the landing page was correct (2014 landing page) After updating the server to 2015 the 2013 clients shows still the landing page of the 2014 server. I have checked the server, there is no 2014 Site. It seems that the clients uses a redirection or so. The 2013 clients do not call the 2015 site of the 2015 server, because any changes to the index.html have no effects. The IIS of the server includes only the 2015 website Does anybody know how to solve the problem? Regards Manfred

What is the reason why you are using an older client?  Why don't you install the 2015 basic client?

Open Internet Explorer on your computer and clear the browser cache.

If you are using Inventor 2013 you only need the 2013 client installed so the Vault add in appears in your CAD application.  That version does not need to be used to interact with Vault.  I would recommend updating to the  2015 client.

Iam not sure that i have understand you. Can Inventor / AutoCAd 2013 use a Vault 2015 Client? Should I deinstall the 2013 Clients and update to the 2015 Client?

With Vault the CAD version can be the same version as Vault or up to 2 versions behind it.   But when working with a CAD version that is not at the same version as your Vault, you need the (Vault) client for that CAD version installed so the Vault add-in (Vault Ribbon) appears in the CAD application   However that should only be the reason why that version (your 2013) of the client is installed on the PC.  Meaning when you need to interact (using the Vault client) with your Vault Basic 2015 you would use the 2015 client.

Although you are using the basic version, in the paid version using an older client could impact some workflows because the old client is unable to work with the new tools in the latest version.

Hope that helps.

Edit:  Does your Vault basic server 2015 manage the content center?  If so do you have a Inventor 2013 partition defined on your server under ADMS?

I have not enough Inventor 2015 licenses, i can't install 2015 clients. What is the problem with the landing page? Is it a server problem or is it a client problem? I have seen that the content center seems to be empty. ADMS 2015 console shows the 2013 libaries. Is there any installation guide aviable to solve this probem? What have I to to to get access to the libaries with Inv 2013?

Try opening a browser and going to http://servername/autodeskdm/services/Vaulthtml/index.html. See if the correct landing page appears.  If so, then you really don't have to worry about the wrong one appearing in the client.  The problem is that the client's browser cache is not clear.  Close the Vault Client make sure you open Internet Explorer not Chrome or FireFox and clear the cache and temporary internet files.

I don't know besides clearing the cache as the other user had indicated.   Why can't you just install the Vault Basic Client 2015 and just use it.  That would be my recommendation instead of trying to figure why the load page has the incorrect information using an older client.

I understand that you don't have enough license for Inventor 2015 and I was asking for you to use that version.

For the libraries you will need to take your desktop version of Inventor 2013 and use the transfer wizard (through your project file) to convert them to Vault.

Sorry my brain must've been 1/2 asleep this morning..   Yes you will be unable to install the Vault basic client 2015 if you don't have AutoCAD or Inventor 2015 installed on each machine.

The correct landing page is shown when I use the link. Cleaning the cache etc does not work but setting the option always look for a newer Version of a page works. Automativ option doers not work properly. Thank you for the advice. Have you an Idea how to access the contnet center libaries?

If i understood right, you want use Inventor 2013 + vault 2015 basic.

  1. on your Client machine, you could install Inventor 2013 + Vault 2013 basic client (this will install vault for inventor 2013 add-in, this let your inventor 2013 connect with Vault 2015 server, if you uninstall it, the add-in will also removed) + Vault basic 2015 (Need 2015 version CAD software installed).
  2. On your Vault server, Navigate to C:\Program Files\Autodesk\ADMS 2015\Server\Web\Services\VaultHTML, Open index.html by IE, see if this file show the correct version (should be 2015 version).
