Hello All,

I have just installed Vault Workgroup 2018 including all available updates, and I have a coupe of questions....

1.  I have attached two pics, one shows the Folders within vault, however, the folder names are missing, can you tell me why this is happening and how to sort it out?

2. On the second pic, I have shown what Inventor dwg's, not the idw's looks like, why are they showing like this and not as a CAD dwg icon?

3. How do I put PDF's into vault, when I use "Add File" Vault hangs and does nothing, and there is no link from adobe to be able to add to vault, what am I missing?

All help is most gratefully received.

Hi Simon,

for 1:

You do have active a different view.

Right mouse click on part number / customize view / reset and it should show the standard

Name would be the property which shows the foldername

for 2: Perhaps you need to fully start inventor once to recognize those dwgs?

Otherwise you can try run inventor as administrator?

Hello,

For the drawing file icons issue in vault - can you see same behaviour in Windows explorer where you have downloaded these drawings.? If you see same issue, the drawing file icon for Windows need to be fixed and that will take care of behaviour you see in vault client.

For pdf files Add files issue - are you bulk uploading pdfs or few files ?

I suspect it's the Add Files dialog in Vault Explorer that's hidden offscreen or behind other windows. When you add a pdf to a vault folder and the Vault Explorer appears to hung you press Alt+space to activate the menu in the Add File dialog. Then press M for move and use the arrow keys to move the dialog box on screen.

Hi GunnarN,

I tried what you suggested, however, I dont have the problem that you described, in the screen shot attached, this is when it freezes and I have been looking at this for ten minutes. This is "Adding" a total of 8 PDF's.

That's a better explanation of what's going on than your first post. Always try to supply as much information possible for us to be able to help the best way we can.

Check the server logs from when you try adding the files. Doe's it hang regardless of the number of files? Is the problem reproducible on more than one vault client? Is the problem isolated to pdf files, or is it the same for example adding a few jpg files the same way?
