2017 Desktop Content in Vault Professional Server 2018

We have an environment set up where we have a Vault Professional 2018 Server and Several Inventor 2017 / Vault Professional Client 2017 Clients.  We're trying to load our custom desktop content IDCL file (Migrated to 2017) in to the Vault.

In the Vault server we create a new library (2017 version)

From the client we create a new project and load desktop content to server.

We get the following error message:

"unsupported server version: libraries cannot be transferred to the selected version of the server."

The Vault documentation claims that Vault Server should be able to handle up to three previous versions and the fact that you can create a 2017 library in Vault 2018 Server would seem to indicate this as well.  However, we are unable to get our library loaded to the server.

Any insights or hints about how to do this would be very much appreciated.

Hi @Anonymous,

The Desktop Content can only be converted to the same version of Vault Server. If you had already converted it to a Vault 2017 server, the 2018 server could still host the 2017 libraries.

Here is the note in the Inventor Help.

  • Desktop Content libraries can be transferred only to the same version of the Autodesk Vault server.
