Is it possible to use revision Control without using Lifecycles?

If so, could someone please give me a brief explanation to how this should be done?

Yes, you can do this applying the "Revise.." command. Watch attached video; don't worry that it starts with an item revision - just follow how the item's linked files, that don't have any own document lifecycle get revised.

OK. So a JobProcessor is not nescessary in order to use the revision Control, but it would autmate the tasks. This Works for both items and parts.
