Helo friends.

What's the best way to add an Inventor file (iam, ipt) from any folder to Vault Basic 2014, specially if this file is not on Vault folders?

Hi,

Other than using the Inventor Vault Add-In I would suggest using the Autoloader to add the files to the Vault.

Here is a link to a help file topic:

I found this video also:

Here is a reply reply was from a colleague in engineering related to using the API to add CAD files to the vault:
"We don’t recommend adding or checking in Inventor files through the API. There is a large amount of meta-data that goes along with a file upload (RefId, dependencies, BOM). So, we recommend letting the CAD plug-in do the upload of CAD data. It’s the same reason Vault Explorer doesn’t let you drag and drop CAD files into Vault."

Thanks,

Wayne

Thank you for your help.

I've tried two ways to get my files to the Vault:

First, with Inventor started up, I tried the command "Check In Project" (Send all files within a specified project location to the server). I had some success doing this, but several files showed me errors to upload to the vault.

Another way was uploading them by using Autodesk Autoloader

I had several issues trying to upload my files to the Vault.

I mean, after scanning the files its status showed me several errors  warnings that I could not solve for I just don't know how. I'm not able to ignore them, so the next step to upload the files keeps frozen.Autoloader.JPG

Could you help finding some manner to fix those issues and finally upload may files into the vault?

I'm having troubles to add into the Vault assemblies made without it which come from another PC or from the network. They lose their relationship, when I'm trying to check them in the file show me mensages of error.

Can somebody explain how can I perform to make my files work out?
