Installing an Autocad LT trial

So I want to try Autocad LT, but due to the Admin requirements, I do not have capability to download this.  The Agent on the line at the time of me installing the trial version, had no concern of helping me.  Is there ANY way to download a trial, so that I can actually see if this would be beneficial use in my job?

Thanks,

David

I wanted to look into purchasing the Autocad LT.  I attempted to download the 15 day trial version.  However due to my company restrictions, I must be logged in as an Admin.  I tried to get help from Autodesk, but they were no use.  They kept telling me to open the trial, because I have it downloaded.  Yes, I did get it downloaded to my computer, BUT in order to open it, I am required to be an Admin.  Is there a salesperson that can even offer suggestions of any sorts.  I really thought that this software would be beneficial in my job.  I feel like I am receiving the cold shoulder as far as any suggestions.

Thanks!!

Unfortunately once it's downloaded we cannot fully help.

You need to get one of your IT ADMIN staff to install it on your computer.

Then you can use it.

Your company IT purposely set that up so staff won’t on their own install unauthorized software. It’s also good policy incase you stumble onto a virus. Speak to your IT staff to get this resolved

There is no option without involving your I.T. staff, unless you have ability to change your own log-in requirements yourself.

Hi @david_smithL2JEH,

Welcome to the Autodesk Trial Connect Community!

Unfortunately, as mentioned by Pendean, administrator privileges are required due to the need to update registry files. You may be able to test on a personal device with some sample files to see if it may be beneficial. Have you reached out to your IT Team about installing AutoCAD LT?

I know isn't the news you were hoping for but if you have any questions, please feel free to let me know.

Thanks for the info.!! I HAVE contacted my IT dept a few times, but they are refusing to respond with me. They are trying to force me into a CADD system that only does about 50% of my actual job duties. Their overall goal/thinking is that they have not trained anyone to fill my shoes, when I retire, so if I were to turn in a notice, then our company Engineers (whom know NOTHING about my job), can pick up my work and continue on using a system not suitable for this job.

HI @david_smithL2JEH,

Unfortunately, as @h_s_walker and @paullimapa have already said, administrator privileges are required due to the need to edit the registry during installation. If you still wish to trial AutoCAD LT, I'd recommend installing onto a personal device and using the sample files here to see if the software offers the functionality you need.

I know this isn't what you were hoping to hear but, I hope the alternative I suggested is useful,

All the best,
