Can I export a STEP file in Inventor Trial?

I need to export a drawing from AutoCAD with solids to a STEP file.  So MEP & Inventor provides this function - export STEP.  I open the drawing in Inventor (trial version - 30 days) and now I want to export to a STEP file.  But in Inventor Export -> CAD Format is grayed out.  Is this because it is a trial version?  Will this be fully functional when I buy Inventor?

Title changed by @LeoWarrenADSK for clarity. Original Title: STEP Export

Hi @rwheat55,

A license shouldn't impact this functionality - when I opened the DWG inside Inventor with no processing, I faced the same issue.

However, if you open the DWG inside Inventor using File -> Open. Click your file then select options:

Select Import -> OK, then Open
You should see this window:

Select Default AutoCAD Configuration then Finish.

You should get a .iam file with your part:

This can now be exported:

You should then be able to export as STEP with no issues,

Please let me know how you get on or if you have any further questions,

All the best,
