I know this is a bit off topic but my Autodesk account is currently associated with my work email address.  Should I create a new Autodesk account under my personal email address and have the certificate assigned to the email address?  Or is it easy enough to have it reassigned down the road?  Just concerned if once certified I move on from my current employee that my certification will be lost when the current work account is shut down.  I am not currently certified but looking to take the test in the coming weeks/months

@mfortuneP5258 Why would you only use an employer's email address for your personal certificates and personal gains?
Or are you planning on working for your entire life at this one single company?

It’s usually safer to create a new Autodesk account with your personal email and use that for certification. Certifications are tied to the account, so if your work email gets deactivated later, you could lose easy access to your credentials.

Reassigning or recovering certifications later can be possible, but it’s not always smooth and may require support tickets, verification, etc. So it’s better to avoid that hassle upfront.

Simple steps:

  • Create a personal account now
  • Use it when registering for the exam
  • Keep everything under your own control long-term

If you're managing certifications, accounts, or automation at scale (especially in a business setting), teams like 514 Digital Co can help set up structured systems so nothing gets lost or tied to the wrong accounts.
