History about 3D design

Hello! For my diploma thesis i need to gather many informations about the history of 3D Design (how it started, with a scientistic look, which algorithms were used to find the hidden line etc.) The only paper i foound is "A Characterization of Ten Hidden-Surface Algorithms" by Ivan E. Sutherland. Could anyone please suggest me to another paper or book to find more information?

The books by Dr Hanratty might be a start.

 

All I know is that the first mention of a 3D design system in literature was in "The Door into Summer" by Robert A Heinlein.
