Hi, I'm Siva, an Autodesk Tandem Customer Adoption Specialist. In my time working with customers and the product, I've noticed that the concept of tagged assets and streams isn't always clear to everyone. It's important to understand how tagged assets and streams are calculated in Tandem, as the pricing model is based on the number of tagged assets and streams.
Tagged Asset
A "Tagged Asset" refers to an element in Tandem that has specific information added to it. We can add information to any element by classifying it as an asset and assigning required parameters. In Tandem, an "Element" refers to any item that is brought into the software from another source (e.g. from BIM data). These items can be physical objects like walls, doors, windows, furniture, or even abstract things like rooms, spaces or levels.
Simply put, in Tandem, a "Tagged Asset" refers to an element that has been enriched with specific information. It's important to understand that not every element with BIM information attached to it is considered a Tagged Asset. Only those elements that have been enhanced with additional information inside Tandem are counted as tagged assets.
Streams
A Stream is a parameter that sends data to Tandem. Examples of this include temperature, flow rate, CO2, humidity, etc. A single device/sensor connected to Tandem can send multiple streams of data.
