Inventory Excel Export/Import

Hi, Jessica

Could you please help?

Item 1:

I may have found a bug?

  1. From the inventory export an excel file.
  2. Change a value in excel; System Name>Coldwater 1 to Coldwater 2. Or any value in excel.
  3. Then import the Excel spreadsheet back into Tandem.

The progress spinner continues on without an error message. It does not Complete the import.

Item2:

How would I effect a change in the Source Model Revit value, that was changed in Tandem?

I would assume the process is:

  1. Inventory to Excel.
  2. Excel to BIM360 Documents?

However that workflow, simply uploads an excel file.

Your Kindness and Help is always appreciated.

Steven

Hi Stevenwilliams,

For your first item, only Tandem properties can be edited/overwritten. Revit Properties cannot be edited in Tandem, which is likely why the file is not uploading. However, the site should not constantly spin like it is. So, this is a bug, and I have sent it off to the development team.

To filter and view the different properties in the Inventory menu, you can edit the columns by data type by clicking columns in the Inventory Panel.

For your second item, there is currently no workflow to send changes made to parameters in Tandem back to Revit. However, we do have a Revit Plugin for Tandem currently in beta. We would love to hear any feedback you have on this workflow. Please note that the plugin only works with Revit 2021. To join the beta, follow this link, and look under “New Feature Testing Opportunities” for what features are currently available.

If you have any questions or need me to elaborate further, let me know.

Hi Stevenwilliams,

Sure thing. The link to join Feature Testing is https://feedback.autodesk.com/key/feature_testing.

Once a user has joined, on the front page for the Tandem Community, scroll down to the section titled "New Feature Testing Opportunities" and follow the prompts.

If any users are having an issue with this, please let me know.

Best,

Jessica
