In Tandem, Elements and Types are key concepts within the properties panel. An Element is an instance of a Type, and a Type defines the common properties of all instances or Elements of that Type.
Element Properties: These properties are unique to each instance of a Type. For example, if you have an Air Handling Unit within your Digital Twin, each AHU (Element) can have different properties like its Serial Number, Barcode, Tag Number etc. These are referred to as Element Properties.
Type Properties: These properties are common to all instances of a Type. For example, the AHU Type could define properties like the Manufacturer, Model Number, Warranty Information, etc. Changes made to Type properties will be reflected in all instances (Elements) of that Type.
In summary, Type Properties define the common characteristics of a group of Elements, while Element Properties define the unique characteristics of individual instances.
